Event Safety Advisory

Ride for Rainbows is not a competitive race. Riders should take responsibility for their personal safety and ride in a manner that does not endanger themselves and/or other riders.

For each category, riders will complete their individual routes at their own pace.

Medical and refreshment stations will be set up along each route. Riders may take as long a break as required at each station.

Riders who are unwell or injured should inform the officials at the next nearest station and seek medical attention. If the rider is midway between stations and is unable to continue, he/she must signal to other riders to cycle ahead and inform the officials at the next station.

In the event that riders are unable to continue with the ride, or if officials decide riders are unfit to complete the ride, the riders together with their bicycles, will be picked up by the first-aid vehicle and transported to the Finishing Point.

Riders must wear the Ride for Rainbows jersey and secure the bike tag to facilitate identification by the officials.

The following is the contingency plan prior to flag-off in case of inclement weather and haze conditions, based on the health advisory issued in NEA website:

Terms & Conditions

  • The Organising Committee will decide whether to proceed with the ride depending on factors such as road conditions and/or other circumstances that may compromise the safety of the riders.
  • If adverse weather conditions occur after flag-off, i.e. while the riders are already on the cycling route, the riders must stop riding at the nearest station. Officials will then make arrangements for the first-aid vehicles to pick up the riders as well as their bicycles and transport them to the Finishing Point.
  • The Organising Committee reserves the right to cancel the event or any particular aspect of the event at any time. Reasonable efforts will be taken by the Organising Committee to notify all participating riders through the Ride for Rainbows website and/or Facebook page, and other communication channels such as SMS and/or email.
